Peter Meeus, IDL's CEO, served as Chief of Staff of the Governor of Antwerp before joining the diamond trade as Director of the Antwerp Diamond Bourse in 1992. He was appointed Managing Director to the HRD, the umbrella organization of Belgian's world diamond center in 1999, a position he held for six years. Early 2006, Meeus moved to Dubai to join the DMCC. As Executive Director Diamonds, Meeus is in charge of implementing the DMCC Masterplan for Diamonds.
Youri Steverlynck, a lawyer with expertise in commercial and public law, changed the Antwerp Bar for the diamond business when he become spokesman of Belgium's diamond sector in 2000. He was appointed Marketing Director of HRD and became responsible for the organization's Public Affairs Unit, including industry regulations. Late 2006, he joined the DMCC. He was appointed CEO of the Dubai Diamond Exchange in 2007. In addition, he serves as General Counsel at International Diamond LaboratoriesTM.
An Smet is Chief Operation Officer at International Diamond LaboratoriesTM. She has 15 years international management experience in leading technology, engineering and production companies in Asia, Europe and South America. Before joining the DMCC she was CEO of Punch Metals, a global manufacturer of high precision metal components, and Director of Seghers Better Technology, a global technology group. Both companies got extensive R&D and laboratory operations around the world.
